Football On The Lake: The First-Ever Como Cup arrives with a Five-Day Festival on the Shores of Lake Como…Celtic will be there so let’s have a look at what’s happening…

This summer, football finds its most beautiful home. From July 23 to 27, Lake Como will host the first edition of Football On The Lake – a five-day festival of world-class football, music, food, and unforgettable experiences, centred around the brand new Como Cup.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Alps and Italy’s most iconic lake, this immersive event brings together elite clubs, international fans, and a vibrant festival spirit in one of the most picturesque locations in the world.

The Football – Four clubs. Four days. One trophy

The Como Cup will see four major clubs go head-to-head in a knockout-style tournament at the historic Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, with Como 1907 defending home turf.

Al-Ahli Saudi FC – Newly crowned AFC Champions League Elite winners, a rising force in Asia.
Celtic FC – Scottish champions and regulars in European competition. First British winners of the European Cup
Como 1907 – Fresh off their long-awaited return to Serie A, ready to host on home soil.

The Festival

Football On The Lake is far more than just matches. Over five days, the city and lakeside will transform into a hub of entertainment and culture, uniting sport, music, food, fashion, and community:

Culinary Events – From Michelin-star chefs to local trattorie, taste the best of Italian cuisine.
Pop-Ups & Experiences – Fashion, football culture, art, and design from across Europe and beyond.
Lakeside Culture – Exhibitions, late-night lounges, and surprise performances.

The Vision 

Como 1907 President Mirwan Suwarso explained the vision: “Football On The Lake is more than just a tournament – it’s a glimpse of what the future holds for Como.

‘Great football, unforgettable experiences, and one of the most beautiful settings in the world, all coming together in celebration. This is just the beginning. We’re building something special here – something that brings our community, our city, and the global game together in a way only Como can.”
