Team’s Up – Schmeichel retains place, Oxlade-Chamberlain starts

Martin O’Neill has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hibernian. The Irishman was left disappointed by a poor midweek defeat to Stuttgart in the Europa League but the legendary boss will be hoping to return to winning ways.

Kasper Schmeichel had a shocking game midweek being at fault for two of the Stuttgart goals but he keeps his place ahead of Vil Sinisalo.

In defence, Kieran Tierney continues at left back with Julian Araujo at right back and the central pairing of Liam Scales and Auston Trusty.

In midfield, Callum McGregor skippers the side alongside Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Benji Nygren. The former England International makes his first start in the Hoops.

Tomas Cvancara starts through the middle with Yang and Seb Tounekti on the wings.

Subs: Sinisalo, Adamu, McCowan, Saracchi, Hatate, Maeda, Arthur, Forrest & Donovan.

The major call comes with Schmeichel being preferred to Finnish goalie Sinisalo. The Great Dane has struggled since returning from a shoulder injury last March and a catalogue of errors have cost Celtic. Hopefully he can bounce back.
