Report: Celtic and Tottenham tracking highly-rated OGC Nice youngster

Celtic are reportedly tracking former Manchester United starlet Deji Sotona, who is currently in the Cote D’Azur with OGC Nice. The Daily Telegraph reports that Tottenham, Chelsea and Celtic are amongst the teams considering offering the Irish kid a first-team pathway that has failed to transpire in France.

The 19-year-old left Manchester United’s Academy in September 2020 for Ligue 1 but is yet to make an appearance for the French side. The left-winger is renowned for his pace, flair and eye for goal. The report says that a minimal fee would be required to prise the Irish talent to Paradise.

Celtic signed Lee O’Connor from Manchester United’s Academy in 2019 but he has yet to make his mark at the club. Liam Scales left Shamrock Rovers for Celtic Park last summer and the club have been linked with enhanced links to Irish talent.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to raid the J-League for Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi. The Celtic manager said that he would like his business done ideally before the beginning of the window with Celtic set to play their final game before the winter shutdown on Sunday, away to St Johnstone.
