Former Celtic starlet Tony Watt looks set to move to Dundee United on a pre-contract, according to a report. According to The Scottish Daily Express, Watt will pen a deal with Tam Courts side as the Tannadice outfit agrees to sign the league’s current top goalscorer.
The player has already rejected a contract extension with the Fir Park club, insisting that he would like to move via freedom of contract.
Watt was Celtic’s hero as the then 18-year-old fired a shot beyond Valdes to give Celtic a famous win on the eve of their 125th Anniversary. Victor Wanyama scored first but it was the Coatbridge Bhoy who grabbed the winner with Lionel Messi netting in injury time.

Watt wasn’t able to get enough game time at Celtic so decided to leave the club, moving to Belgium. With a variety of moves, Watt seems to have really settled back into his football at Fir Park and has been showing his qualities scoring ten this season and assisting two more.
In 34 appearances for Celtic, Watt scored eight goals and earned five assists. Dundee United will be landing a top striker in the 27-year-old as he looks to hammer on Steve Clarke’s door ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

If I was Celtic I would seriously consider bringing Tony Watt back to Celtic Park, to me he looks the real deal now and at the age of 27 has matured into a good all round striker. In my opinion outside of Kyogo he is better than the back up strikers we currently have at Parkhead. I’m not for a minute saying we should sign him instead of the 3 Japanise players or getting Jota tied up, I’m meaning over and above those signings.
