All about the three points, but yet another tough watch…

Three points was the aim before the game, and three points is what Celtic got. So we achieved our target, but by the slenderest of margins after a first half Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain strike earned us a vital victory in a tense and frustrating afternoon in Paradise.
With Hearts also winning at home to Motherwell, it was vital we didn’t slip up, and despite Viljami Sinisalo rarely being tested, it was a nervy second period, not helped by serval moments of sloppiness from those in a green and white jersey, something we’ve unfortunately become accustomed to over the course of this dire and turgid campaign.

Celtic started well, spurred on by a great backdrop of atmosphere, all down to the return of the Green Brigade, and despite taking a 15th minute lead courtesy of a composed close range finish by the OX, we once again put in an unconvincing and often lackadaisical display, which left a lot to be desired.
We still look powderpuff in an attacking sense, our midfield looks disjointed, and our defence looks rather nervous at times, Liam Scales in particular, all which makes for a dangerous combination.
There was a five to ten minute period just after the restart when we looked vulnerable, and St Mirren who are fighting to avoid the dreaded relegation play off spot looked to take full advantage, passing and attacking at will, and without sounding disrespectful to the buddies, a better side would have capitalised on our obvious fragilities.

To the players credit, they stuck to the task on a tension filled afternoon, and got over the line, but not without a few stumbles along the way as we all roared a huge sigh of relief at full time.
We’re still very much in contention for the title, and are grinding our results, a surefire sign of champions, but we need to see a massive improvement heading into the final five Scottish Premiership fixtures.

The result takes Celtic up to second place in the table leapfrogging the Rangers who play ar Falkirk today in what could be a tough match for them. Both Celtic and Hearts avoided a slip-up yesterday, with the Rangers do the same or win this be the team that slips up in this list round o fixtures before the split? Let’s home so.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
