Video: “He Was Loved By Everybody,” John Hartson Eulogises Bertie Auld In Emotional Interview

Former Celtic striker John Hartson has paid an emotional tribute to his friend Bertie Auld. Speaking to Sky Sports Scotland, Hartson described Bertie as someone who “had time for everybody.”  “He’s a gentleman. He’s a character. He was loved by everybody,” the Welshman said.

John encountered Bertie at many times over the years. His respect for the man’s footballing ability was evident, yet it was probably secondary to the fondness he held for Bertie as a man and as an ambassador for the club he has come to love.

A history maker on the pitch and a hilarious, warm character off it – there’ll never be another Bertie Auld.

Here’s the full interview. A fine emotive tribute to a true legend.
