Team’s Up – Bernardo starts for Celtic against Stuttgart

Martin O’Neill has named his Celtic team for this evening’s UEFA Europa League clash against Stuttgart. The Germans are in Glasgow for the playoff round with both teams vying for a place in the Last 16.

The legendary Celtic boss will mark his 1000 game in charge and has named the team that will mark this milestone tonight. The major standout comes as Paulo Bernardo is preferred to Reo Hatate in the middle of the park.

Kasper Schmeichel starts in goals. The Dane will have to be at his best to help keep out the highly rated Bundesliga outfit.

In defence, a back four of Julian Araujo, Auston Trusty, Liam Scales and Kieran Tierney starts. Araujo will be keen to follow up his late winner at Killie with another impressive display.

In midfield, Paulo Bernardo starts alongside Callum McGregor with Benji Nygren further forward. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not registered while Arne Engels is sidelined with injury.

Tomas Cvancara leads the line with Daizen Maeda and Seb Tounekti out wide.

Subs: Sinisalo, Doohan, Adamu, Yang, McCowan, Iheanacho, Saracchi, Hatate, Murray, Forrest, Donovan, Ralston.
