Report: Celtic have €8m bid rejected for Romanian striker

Celtic have reportedly made an offer for Cluj attacker Louis Munteanu. The Romanian U21 Internationalist has impressed Celtic scouts resulting in an alleged move being made by the Scottish Champions.

As reported by iAMsport.ro via Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic launched a €8m bid which was immediately rejected with the Romanian outfit wanting between €10-18m for the player.

The ex-Fiorentina attacker joined Cluj last summer, scoring 26 goals and assisting on 3 occasions for the club. This form has caught the attention of a number of clubs with French sides Lille, Rennes and Nice eager to sign the player.

Celtic will shortly add Shin Yamada for £1.5m from the J-League to their ranks. The manager has confirmed that he wishes to assess the attacker rather than a definite first team option. Callum Osmand joined from Fulham for just a development fee to compete with Irish duo Adam Idah and Johnny Kenny. It remains to be seen whether Celtic add another attacker. The manager has suggested that he is looking to add further to the attacking options in his squad and it may be that that results in another striker joining.
