North Curve Celtic have revealed a touching display to Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld, who sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 83. The club legend was loved by all associated with the club, a regular feature at games before COVID-19. His warm smile, infectious personality and time for all made him truly the embodiment of Celtic.

The NCC have created a mural to Bertie along with a touching message across their social media channels.

With Auld’s passing, we remember the great men involved with providing Celtic’s greatest triumph. Each of these men were connected to that famous day in Lisbon and were great friends. They will always be remembered. BT Sport released an emotional video in which Bertie and some of his teammates, supporters reflect on Lisbon. It is a real tearjerker.

Bertie was inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame in 2009, celebrating all of his achievements including five League titles, three Scottish Cups, four League Cups and two Glasgow Cups. He was a part of the side that triumphed in Lisbon on the 25th of May 1967, breaking into The Celtic Song in the tunnel before the match.
