Patronising statement exposes Board’s disrespect for Celtic support

Patronising statement shows how much the club really think of us, the Celtic support…

Hot on the heels of using the Scottish Sun to undermine the Celtic manager, the club finally reacted to the concerns of the supporters by releasing an ‘explanation’ in the form of a long winded statement late on Saturday evening on the official Celtic FC website and via their various social media channels. However  that has done nothing to relax the supporters, with the overall majority seeing through what can only be described as patronising, and in short a form of gaslighting.

Trying to justify their incompetence, and laying the blame on UEFA regulations and misleading information on social media shows just how much highly they regard the intelligence of the heart and soul of the club which is you and I, the ordinary every day supporter who hugely contribute to the continual success of Celtic football club. Without all of us there is no Celtic, and that is something they conveniently forget or just simply ignore.

Not once did they take any responsibility over their repetitive failure to replace value assets of the squad, or their lowball attempts at recruiting players which has been well documented by the parties involved. Or their delays in moving for players.

All the nameless long worded statement did was show the world what we all already knew, that they are only interested in self preservation and nothing else, with the supporters just mere subjects to those high up in the ivory towers of Celtic Park.

That statement, as already described on The Celtic Star was a massive own goal and nothing short of a disgrace. It achieved nothing other than further alienating the club from the vast majority of Celtic supporters the world over.

The Celtic statement failed to address any of the pertinent points that have been raised in this week’s significant campaign by supporters from the ground level, who are looking for answers. The club simply ignored the supporters, defended themselves and disgracefully attacked the manager.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy

I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. After reading through the full statement i can summarise it thus:

Patronising, arrogant, disrespectful, misleading, insulting and full of lies. And since nobody’s got the cojones to put their name to that statement we can add ‘cowardly’ to the summary too. They really would have been better keeping their mouths shut than releasing that red rag to a bull.

  2. A completely amateur and ill thought out response to all the concerns raised over the completely amateur and ill thought out approach to everything else. How appropriate.

  3. Sky high ticket prices.
VAR destroying the game. No tackles. No entertainment. PLC, PC football. The game has gone woke and broke.

Not a Scottish flag in sight in the stands. But the islamification our city and club once open to all.

Bring and back Seville 2003. The fields of athenry. The Pope’s 11 and Henrik Larsson the King of Kings!

Let’s take club and country back in the name of a Jesus. God bless. And Hail Hail!
