After a bitterly disappointing result that robs Celtic the opportunity to go ahead in the SPFL table, Callum McGregor spoke to Celtic TV when the match against Livingston ended today.

McGregor and his teammates just couldn’t find the cutting edge to take the lead against a side that were determined not to participate in a football match. The Captain said: “Yeah, like you said it’s a disappointing result. It’s a hard one to take because there’s only one football team trying to win that match.”

“You know we had enough chances to win the game. To be fair to them they set-up well, defended well, defended their box well and closed the gaps we were looking to play in. I still think we done enough to win the game. That’s the bit that’s hard to take.”

On the question of the change of penalty taker, McGregor was assertive in his assessment. The player said: “No, no. It’s all worked out before. So, that’s the plan. You know if Giorgos was on the pitch, it’s him. If not, it was Josip. So there’s no debate about that.”

McGregor also insisted the team must pick themselves up after today’s deflating result, with Ferencvaros up next on the agenda. He added: “It’s important we don’t dwell on it too much. We’ve been on a good run. We’ve played some great football and got some great results. It’s disappointing. We’ll learn from it, we’ll look at the game and see where we can try to create more chances. Again, I think we did enough to win the game. So it’s just a case of keeping everyone together, recovering well. We’ve got two massive games next week as well. So we need to get back at it.”
