Joe Hart congratulated a former England teammate on winning his first ever league title in professional football earlier this year – which was also the first ever for the club that former England team-mate manages. Hart sent a social media message on Instagram saying “Congrats,” to his former England teammate, adding the word “awesome” and ending with two little applauding hands, as you do on social media.

Former teammate sent congratulations several months ago, isn’t really a story – unless you add the big lie.  And that’s exactly what the Scottish Sun has done today in a piece written by Stewart Fisher. Here’s the headline..

ALL HART  Incoming Celtic keeper Joe Hart hailed Rangers’ ‘awesome’ league win when they clinched record 55 titles

Here’s Hart’s social media message, where the former England goalkeeper, who is today undertaking his medical ahead of completing his move to Celtic , certainly doesn’t mention the big 55 lie.

Rangers FC, which was placed into liquidation in the summer of 2012, won 54 titles, one of which was actually shared with Dumbarton – so on the half each bases, that makes it 53.5, and that’s before you consider the decade of cheating that Rangers FC engaged in via their unlawful tax scam that allowed them to play players that they could otherwise not afford, coupled with the secretive side letters.

Celtic though had plenty of opportunity to challenge that after the so-called Big Tax Case  was finally decided in the Supreme Court. Our club’s board decided against that.

Now the BIG 55 LIE is being used by this chap Stewart Fisher to try to manufacture a story that damages Celtic by turning supporters against Joe Hart before he’s even put pen to paper. For the avoidance of doubt Hart never mentioned the number of titles that Rangers have won, whether that was the 55 lie or the truthful ONE title win since the club was founded by Charles Green in July 2012.
