Arne Engels eyes World Cup place in Belgium squad
“The World Cup is always there. It would be an amazing achievement by myself to get there. It’s always nice to play for your country. It’s up to me to get the performances in and let everybody see that I am ready for it. It’s not up to me to decide.
“But it’s up to me to make good performances and to score goals and make assists. So we’ll see what happens, but I will be trying my best to do that, for sure,” Arne said.

The Celtic midfielder did however talk about how the player discuss players being linked with the club during the transfer windows and also have been discussing the managerial candidates ahead of the focus being solely directed at Wilfried Nancy as everyone regarded him as the Board’s choice. Nancy will be here tomorrow or perhaps Friday and will be in the Celtic dugout on Sunday when Celtic take on Hearts in the league.

“Of course, we are going to talk about things that we see in the media,” Engels said. “Everybody can see what’s been going on but I’ve got no idea when it’s going to be done. I’m sorry to say I have literally got no idea.
“Of course, we speak about the name that I going around and I’ve only heard good and positive things. Everybody is looking forward to it.”
Arne though admitted that the players had NOT been updated on Nancy’s imminent arrive before he walked into the media room at Lennoxtown. That has probably now happened and Martin O’Neill will this evening say his goodbyes to the players and give then his own update on what’s next for them.
