Dear Peter, don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Hopefully Michael will soon be joining you…

Some good news came to light earlier this afternoon when it was announced that Peter Lawwell was standing down from his position of chairman of Celtic Football club taking effect from the last day of the year.

Peter has done the right thing as he is part of the sheer incompetence that plagues our club. Once upon a time it was proclaimed that he was a decent CEO, but he’s now just an old man dining out on the gravy train that is Celtic Football Club, or I should say he was, and his time is finally up, but years too late in my opinion.

Pete predictably blamed supporters for his decision to stand down, something that was echoed by his boss Dermot Desmond in the car crash of a Celtic statement this afternoon.

Listen Pete, you can blame the supporters all you want, but like us you have witnessed first hand the damage that you and your cronies have done to our football club, it was nothing but sheer incompetence, and for that you deserve your jotters. The fact you were allowed to take the decision yourself is yet another damming indictment of the way our club is being run.

You proclaim to be a Celtic supporter, but true Celtic supporters don’t repeatedly damage the club they love. Your love is money and you’ve made plenty of it from our football club.

From poking your nose in on recruitment, hiring your family and pals, to unsettling whoever occupies the managers office, you’ve been guilty of holding our club back from achieving greater heights.

You also allowed yourself to become disconnected from the supporters who bankroll your lifestyle, something that was perfectly summed up in your sleekit and unsubstantiated reasoning for stepping down. Whether it you, the Desmonds or Nicholson you just can’t help attacking the good name of the Celtic support, the folk who sold out season tickets in the Covid season when we knew we’d not get to a game.

Lawwell’s performance at the Celtic AGM was disgraceful manufacturing excuses to avoid scrutiny and in doing so answering not a single question from shareholders. He also allowed Ross Desmond to sit at the top table, wearing club attire and launching a disgraceful attack on the Celtic supporters and shareholders, the very folk whose commitment and loyalty to the club has made you a very wealthy man.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Pete, hopefully your deputy Michael will be joining you shortly.
