Celtic has binned the Celtic fan media access with immediate effect with The Celtic Star and Celts Are Here both being informed by the Celtic PR department that today’s access to the pre-match media conference at Lennoxtown has been CANCELLED.

In a short, 18 word email to both fan media sites who were scheduled to attend today’s media conference as per the fan media rota that the club issued in the summer ahead of the current season. There have been no issues with any fan media representative attending these media conferences until today.
The club’s email to me received at 11.31am this morning ahead of the lunchtime media conference states:
Hi David, There is no for fan media today. We are currently reviewing access arrangements for fan media.”

Today will be the first chance that the mainstream media get to speak to Wilfried Nancy but the new Celtic manager will not be answering the questions that the Celtic supporters themselves want to ask.
Most – if not all – of the Celtic fan media sites participating with the club on fan rota system – have signed the petition and subsequently became members of the Celtic Fans Collective. All the Celtic supporters associations have done likewise. What will be next, no access to away tickets for the Celtic Supporters Association, AICSC and the Affiliation?
We have already seen the club take action against the Green Brigade – with the club stating just the other day that this has nothing to do with the ongoing fan protests. Well if that is true why is the Celtic fan media’s access denied two hours before today’s media conference?
The Celtic Star has covered every statement from the club, North Curve Celtic and the Celtic Fan Collective, so too has our fan media colleagues at Celts Are Here who were also on today’s rota. You can widen that to say that the coverage has also appeared in all the newspapers that will speak today to the new Celtic manager, Wilfried Nancy.
There is no doubt in my mind that had there been no fan protest then The Celtic Star and Celts Are Here would have been at Lennoxtown today. Unlike many on the first generation of fan media sites, the current sites do not sit closely with the board, have close relationships with the Chairman or use their platforms as propaganda tools.
What we do is cover Celtic from a supporters perspective and its fair to say that many in the Celtic support are unhappy with many aspects including the transfer windows in 2025, the two statements from the Desmond family and the overall lack of communication with the supporters.
The Celtic Star – Did you know The Celtic Star now has its own App
No questions were asked at the recent Celtic AGM, none will now be asked by any Celtic supporter in the Celtic fan media until further notice. It won’t damage The Celtic Star, a moderate voice among the support, nor will it damage Celts Are Here or the other fan media outlets still on the rota this season.

Football without Fans is nothing. It’s so ironic that truism originated at Celtic from Jock Stein.
