We’re in yet another Scottish Cup final, after a late rush from the Bhoys piling on the agony and putting on the style…

We reached our fourth successive Scottish Cup final after a dramatic 6-2 extra time win over St Mirren at the national stadium.

Daizen Maeda got us off to the perfect start just a minute in as his pressure on St Mirren keeper Ryan Mullen paid off as the keepers attempted kick out bounced off Diazen and into the back of the net. It was great heart and determination from the Japanese striker, and he deserves great credit for his all round performance this afternoon.

Celtic were now in full ascendancy, and Mullen in the Buddies goal was a bag of nerves before pulling up injured and replaced by youngster Grant Tamosevicius.

We couldn’t double our lead when in full control of early proceedings, despite hitting the post and the upright, in between a flurry of scares as Viljami Sinisalo also looking uncomfortable in possession of the ball, due to some ‘dodgy’ passes played to him by his defenders, and only a great stop from the Finn, and bad finishing stopped the Buddies from levelling.

As the crowd got restless and the Buddies looked to be gaining confidence, we doubled our lead right on half time, thanks to the unlikely source of Tony Ralston who placed his shot perfectly into the roof of the net to give us a two goal advantage heading into the interval.

As always with this Celtic side though, they had to do it the hard way after conceding two second half goals in an overall disjointed and sloppy performance.

Not one individual in the green and white decked stands of Hampden felt comfortable as we headed into extra time, but what happened next was an absolute six minute adrenaline rush.

A double from Kelechi Iheanacho, and strikes from Luke McCowan and Benjamin Nygren made it a whopping 6-2 in Celtic’s favour, as we put on a show as we piled on the agony and put on the style as we booked our place in yet another Scottish Cup final.
