Celtic willing to make the full allocation available to Rangers if no ultras given tickets

Celtic this evening issued another supporters update statement via the official Celtic FC website confirming the news that there may well be no away fans at the Glasgow Derby match at Celtic Park in a few weeks from now…

Celtic state that they have been in discussions with both the latest Ibrix club and the SPFL and are open to further meetings to discuss a solution. From Celtic’s point of view that will not include the Rangers Ultras, known as Union Bears, to be allowed inside Paradise.

HERE IS THE SUPPORTERS UPDATE

Following the most recent derby match at Ibrox, Celtic Football Club has engaged in dialogue with Rangers FC with regards to ticketing for the forthcoming game at Celtic Park.

To be clear, we are ready and willing to make the full allocation as normal available to Rangers FC, subject to a condition regarding distribution to a particular section.

Celtic’s priority will always be the safety of those attending Celtic Park, and following a detailed risk assessment with regards to the forthcoming match, the club has made a reasonable request of Rangers FC that tickets are not distributed to a section of supporters which very recently and identifiably engaged in serious violence and disorder involving Celtic supporters, staff, police and stewards.

To our surprise and disappointment Rangers have not agreed to this request. Celtic are ready to engage further with the SPFL and Rangers FC on this matter.

A solution has to be found here so that 2200 Rangers fans can attend the game. Celtic do have valid concerns over the Ibrox ultras causing more trouble and the sensible thing is for them to step aside.

However this could going forward set a precedent and the likes of The Green Brigade and Bhoys Celtic could find themselves being deemed unwelcome at grounds across the country. If the ban goes ahead there will be all sorts of complaints especially if Celtic win.

Good luck to the SPFL in trying to sort this one out while trying to keep both sides happy.

Quite rightly so, the governing body are busy twisting like snakes so they can blame both sides for the violence always to appease the rwhingers. The media are the same. Also not heard anything about the St mirren fans who jumped ont the running track at their 2nd goal during the semi final.. strange that or the WWE tactics used against our players arm round the neck etc

  1. Don’t let any that poison in!! Utter poisonous anti social hordes of filth ! I rather never play any club from that cespit of hate. Now let’s do this double as per Celtic!
