Scott Brown’s ‘vultures’ remark disrespects the Celtic support

Scott Brown has had a dig at the Celtic supporters on social media and podcasts who he describes as ‘vultures’…

According to the former Celtic captain, these supporters reckon that they know more about running a football club than the Celtic Board.

It’s a hardcore stance in favour of the likes of Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay and of course the puppet-master in chief, Dermot Desmond. The Celtic support, including those appearing on podcasts or posting on X, know enough about football to know that the season-on-season loss of 50 goals from out total has maybe got something to do with selling Kyogo in January 2025 and failing to replace him in THREE transfer windows.

Broony talks about supporters wanting to spend £20m on a player, presumably a striker, when one could have been bought for less than half the figure the former Celtic skipper quotes. That imaginary £20m player might not have been a success – and if Michael Nicholson and Paul Tisdale were making the selection he may have a point on that – but NOT having a Celtic quality replacement for Kyogo clearly cost Celtic the £20m in lost Champions League revenue when we couldn’t score against Kairat Almaty.

Nor did the Celtic podcasters or supporters on social media appoint Wilfried Nancy, spilling a dozen precious points and a League Cup along the way in 33 disastrous days in charge. That was Tisdale – Desmond and Nicholson who told us that the Frenchman was always their number one target.

Speaking to Daily Record Broony had his say and he’s clearly entitled to his opinion, as indeed is every Celtic supporter.

“It’s not been a perfect season, far from it, but the manager and the players have found a way to keep winning games of football. So it’s about keeping the faith,” Scott Brown said.

“If they go and win this league after all the pressure and all of the criticism of the board, the players and managers coming in and leaving, it will be the best league win ever.

“There are a lot of vultures out there on social media and podcasts who think they know how to run the club better. It’s as if people think Celtic can just go out and spend £20m on a player because the money is in the bank.

“But if you do that and then you don’t make the Champions League then what happens? The club starts going into the red.

“So everyone has to come together because that’s one of the biggest things in football – togetherness. The fans, the players and the board need to come together for what’s left of the season and then some big decisions can be made in the summer on what direction they go in from there.”

  1. I have never heard any fans saying we should spend 20m on a signing. Replace players that are being sold, that’s all

  2. Proverbs 9:7

    Whoever corrects a scoffer wins abuse;
    whoever rebukes the wicked gets hurt.

    A scoffer who is rebuked will only hate you;

    the wise, when rebuked, will love you.

    I agree completely with Scot Brown and that’s why we love Martin O’Neill who loves Jesus Christ and the Catholic Celtic fan base.

    We’ll leave the communist Hamas terrorist surporting vultures to carp from the sidelines of their bedrooms with no real meaning or value to their lives. As they pined for their modern football manager Wilfried Nancy.

    If we lose the league. It was their fault.

    P.S. God bless the Pope’s 11 and the Green and White! Forevermore! Faithful through and through.

  3. Hardly surprising that brown backs up his mates in the Celtic board! He knows what side his breads buttered just like Lennon! This was the guy who said lawell deserved a statue! Show me anywhere where a fan or a podcast has said let’s spend 20 million on a player! You can’t because it’s never happened! Brown joins a long list of lawell favourites who will defend them to the end! Hoping for a cushty number and taking more money from the people he describes as vultures!

  4. Hamas terrorist, Hama’s don’t celebrate and glorify the murder of tens of thousands of children, that’ll be your terrorist state run and populated by the dregs of Europe’s fascist states.
    You know that saying David the one about it being one thing being stupid, but another opening your mouth and proving it?.
    Wee question for you too, who gave Hamas $1.3billion to get them going?.
    A wee clue to help you out, he’s in charge of Israel.

    • They are savages who murdered 2,000 people at a concert, all in the name of the paedo warlord Muhammad. Who married a six year old. And consumated the marriage at nine. And now they’re all voting Green for the Muslim takeover of Britain.

      An advert for reform to control our borders and take our club and country back. We won’t want em.

      • This is the definition of selective sourcing of historical facts in an attempt to fit a biased contemporary viewpoint. To choose to wave the flag of Catholicism and ignore all of the heinous acts that have been enacted upon those who are weaker and vulnerable by the church shows a lack of a balanced perspective. The first thing that a strong and assured human being does is self reflect and ask what can I do better and am I aligned with my true values. A brother is always a brother no matter their creed, religion or name. The world will only become a better place by all fractions taking a stand and being kind to others, the drawbridge can’t be pulled up as no nation can survive in isolation.

  5. I agree with Daniel’s points, brown currying favour with the politburo if they stay in power there might be something in it for him. David should seek specialist help.hh
