Martin O’Neill has indicated he would be willing to consider another spell at Celtic should the opportunity arise…

The former Hoops boss – who enjoyed an impressive run of results during a short-term stint as interim manager between October and December – insists his enthusiasm and drive remain undiminished compared to many of his peers.
O’Neill stepped in following Brendan Rodgers’ departure two months ago but later made way for Wilfried Nancy, whose tenure has begun with a catastrophic run of defeats.
Speaking during a radio appearance on talkSPORT yesterday morning, O’Neill stressed the importance of patience and support for Nancy, while stopping short of ruling out a future return to Celtic.
During the discussion, presenter Jim White pressed the 73 year-old on how he would respond if Celtic were to approach him again later in the season.
“That would be hypothetical,” O’Neill replied via talkSPORT. “It’s like asking me if my next birthday is 74? Which it would be.”
“I suppose deep down, really, if that manager of Roma, Gasperini, who is only about 26 months younger than me… Yeah, why not. I think I have as much energy as most managers at the minute.”

Nancy’s tenure as Hoops boss was dealt a major blow on Sunday as Celtic were comfortably beaten 3-1 by St Mirren in the Premier Sports League Cup final, in just his third match in charge.
“You cannot make a judgment on anybody over three games,” O’Neill added. “And I don’t care… the matches were difficult. Roma was going to be a difficult game, whether you are playing at home or not. Hearts was the top of the table clash. And a Cup Final is a Cup Final. You have got to give a manager some time.”
“It is recoverable. Of course. You’re in the football club 10 or 12 days. Even though you probably have watched the team play and you know, you still have to learn about the players.”

He’s only a kid compared to Dick Advocate (78 years old) who is still in management, let’s face it if the tribute act were to convince him to take over this carnation of Rangers it’d be announced like the 2nd coming of Christ…….
Also, I’m surprised at Dermot Desmond, he has allowed the standards to fall at Celtic FC in the last year, which to be fair is unlike him…….
