Yesterday afternoon in a march organised by The Celtic Fans Collective, around 5000 Celtic supporters assembled at the birthplace of Celtic at St Mary’s RC Church in Calton to march to Celtic Park collectively…

Along the way The Green Brigade’s Annual Foodbank collection was taking place, action speaking louder than words as these young Celtic supporters, currently excluded from Celtic Park and targeted in the clubs unholy alliance with the Daily Record, followed in Brother Walfrid’s footsteps to help put food on the tables of the poor this Christmas.
A reminder to the Celtic board that the fans are the lifeblood of the club.

Jeanette Findlay from the Celtic Trust spoke outside St Mary’s and gave her vision of what Celtic really is. The march then set off towards Paradise, a walk of just over a mile in torrential rain. Many Celtic supporters clubs attended this march with their own banners which were later in the afternoon displayed all around Celtic Park.

Coverage of all this was attacked by those from across the city, trolls, some with our own support – sadly – and also by a suspicious lot who have appeared over the past few weeks to do a dirty job of work. Hired hands to sway the argument. Oh and that x account everyone reckons is Neil Lennon was at it too.

I doubt Brother Walfrid would be pleased with the infighting and would instead look for a way to bring unity, the word Callum McGregor used. At the game yesterday the Bhoys Celtic were deliberately quiet, while the band Green Brigade still got soaked but only because of their noble Food bank efforts. That mean that the Hearts fans had the stage to themselves and they certainly made the most of it, with Beautiful Sunday, Keep the Board and Sacked in the Morning all heard across a rather subdued Celtic support.

The crowd looks closer to 500 than 5000. The food bank is a great cause so well done to the Green Brigade for running another collection.
The Fans Collective was started following yet another terrible transfer window where Celtic failed to spend enough tens of millions of pounds on football players via transfers and wages. It seems strange therefore to link the protests back to Brother Wilfred and the founding principles of the club
