Sean McArdle showed that he’s a young player with outstanding ability and great promise in the few first team appearances he made towards the end of last season for Celtic, notably up at Pittodrie as Celtic cruised to a 5-1 victory.

He has great poise for one so young, very much an attack minded player and has the potential to develop into a terrific player, for Celtic so we can only wish him the best of luck at Firhill after he agreed to join Partick Thistle on loan until the end of the season.

He’ll be coached by former Celt Mark Wilson who will be well aware of the Sean’s potential and will give him a great grounding playing at the top end of the Championship for the rest of the season before returning to Lennoxtown as a battle hardened and experienced performer looking to push for a place in the Celtic first team squad.

It’s been a whilst since we seen an emerging talent make the grade in the first team, so hopefully young Sean along with Colby Donovan can break that mould in the coming years.

It’s quite clear that Sean has impressed an elite coach in Brendan Rodgers who doesn’t play young talent just for the sake of it.

Sean will undoubtedly grab this opportunity to impress at the Jags and make sure he’s knocking on the door of the first team squad next summer come pre-season.

Sean will earn valuable experience playing in Mark Wilson’s side, and it will only make him a much better player. Thistle will be on the front foot in most of their games which will suit Sean just fine and maybe a few Celtic fans will make it along to Firhill over the course of his time there to see him playing.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
