The defender signed with the Scottish Premiership newcomers last week on a season-long loan, making it his sixth stint away from Celtic as he works his way through the five year contract given to him by the club in 2021 via a series of loan moves.

Barely a day after sealing his latest switch to Almondvale which Livingston are now calling…wait for it…Home of the Set Fare Arena…Montgomery found himself in action for Livingston against League One side Kelty Hearts in the Premier Sports Cup group stages.
Martindale’s men took the lead almost instantly through Andy Winter, whose early goal set the tone for a comprehensive victory for Livi.

Adam Montgomery gets a debut goal for Livingston
Only 25 minutes after Livingston went in front, Montgomery extended ther lead, timing his run perfectly to meet a clever through ball and slotting it past Corey Armour. At 23 years old, the Celtic loanee’s goal marked just the third of his senior career.
Livingston, who were on the unseeded side of Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup draw will now face Livingston at home in the last 16 matches on the weekend of Saturday/Sunday, August 16/17.
Last season’s Premiership playoff winners begin their league season this weekend with a trip to Rugby Park to take on Kilmarnock, and Montgomery will be keen to build on his impressive loan debut.
The Celtic academy graduate left-back featured 14 times across all competitions for Queen’s Park during the latter half of last season in the Championship.

Celtic connection grows at Scott Brown’s Ayr Utd
Meanwhile, Celtic B midfielder Kyle Ure has joined his teammate Jude Bonnar at Scott Brown’s Ayr United. Ure made his competitive debut on Sunday during the Somerset Park club’s 2-1 defeat to St Mirren at SMISA.

Brown substituted Bonnar on at half-time, while Ure came on with four minutes of the game to go. While Celtic face Falkirk in the Last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup, Ure and Bonnar will go up against Partick Thistle at Firhill.
This has heightened speculation that Celtic are now in an official cooperation agreement partnership with Ayr and further B team players could make their move to Broony’s men ahead of the season kicking off this weekend.

Today we remember David Potter, who passed away two years ago today. We want to say thank you to everyone who has already pre-ordered David’s last ever Celtic book, Celtic in the Eighties, which will be published on the fifth day of September by Celtic Star Books.
