Adam Idah was a Celtic hero last spring after coming in on loan at end of January before playing a crucial role in Celtic’s title win then rounding that off with an unforgettable 90th minute winner in the Scottish Cup Final against theRangers…
Summer stand-off with Norwich disrupted Idah’s pre-season
What followed was a summer stand-off as Norwich City looked to capitalise on Celtic’s desire to sign the Irish striker who arrived in Glasgow with a realistic transfer valuation of around £3m.
Fair play to the Carrow Road side, they played their hand patiently and perfectly and usually for Celtic a hefty fee well over the player’s worth in the market was paid. That transfer stalemate saga also meant that when Idah did finally sign his deal with Celtic he had missed much of the pre-season.

A frustrating first season for Adam Idah
It’s been a frustrating first season for Adam Idah as a fully fledged Celtic player but it certainly has not been without it’s moments, notably his Champions League contributions against Slovan Bratislava, Aston Villa and of course the own goal he forced against Young Boys.

A natural striker who works hard in every game doesn’t need anyone to make excuses for “indifferent form”. Truth is, Celtic were taken to the cleaners by Norwich City, they paid three times Idah’s worth. Best way forward is for Celtic to sign a proven goal scorer and either bench Idah or move him on at a financial loss. He’s never going to become a sensational striker for the club. At best, he’s average.
