The club are in the process of signing off on a deal which will take Kyogo Furuhashi to French side Rennes, whilst we are also trying to tie up any loose ends to bring Jota back to Paradise for a second time.

It will be a difficult deal to do considering the amount of interest in the Danish forward and reports have emerged lately that Brondby are holding out for a whopping £13.5 million for their star man – a figure which would be record-breaker for them. Whilst the talks to bring two former players back to the club in Kieran Tierney and Jota rumbles on, it remains to be seen still what Celtic are willing to do this month.
A major outlay, that £13.5 million figure which the Danes are after would eclipse the £9 million spent on Adam Idah and the recent £11.5 million purchase of Belgian talent, Arne Engels. Celtic have proven recently they are willing to splurge on the right player if the opportunity presents itself and it wouldn’t be wholly out of the question bringing Kvistgaarden in for that fee this transfer window.

Mathias Kvistgaarden responds
The player himself has been quizzed recently on moving away from Brondby and was even asked outright about interest from the Hoops. Speaking about his future options, he revealed that he’s trying to ignore the media stories and concentrate of improving his game. “Of course, there is a lot you can read about and listen to, but I try to ignore it as much as possible and just concentrate on training here every day,” he said via 3point.dk.
No doubt there will be plethora of stories and links to other teams this window for the centre-forward to deal with, including from Bundesliga side, Eintracht Frankfurt, who are trying to replace £60 million man, Omar Marmoush. When asked outrightly about a potential move to Celtic Park, Kvistgaarden gave a very elusive answer, saying: “In the end, as a player, I can’t really do anything except do the best I possibly can – whether it’s for one place or another. That’s the way it is.”
